1. - MASTER OF LAW. On December 13th, 2008, Tuane & Cía attorney Fernando Lohse obtained a Master’s Degree of Law in Economics and Finance from the Universidad Gabriela Mistral in Santiago, Chile.
2. - INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION. Also in December 2008, Tuane & Cía attorney Nelly Bustos concluded her postgraduate studies in International Arbitration at the Universidad de Chile.
3. - ENVIRONMENT. In January 2009, the Universidad de Chile attorney Daniel Oksenberg joined the firm. He will focus on litigation matters with an emphasis on environment.
4. - PRIZES. On January 9th, 2009 took place an official lunch to close the 2008 judicial year at the Club de Golf La Dehesa of Santiago. Awards were presented to the best professionals of Tuane & Cía. First place was achieved by the Universidad Católica de Chile attorney, Mr. Daniel Montalva Armanet.
5. - STRATEGIC ALLIANCE. In August 2009, the firm formed a strategic alliance with the firm Gutierrez Cordoba, of Montevideo, Uruguay, a firm with vast experience in international financial and tax matters. The aim is to provide additional support to the legal planning of Tuane & Cía.
6. - SWITZERLAND. The Tuane & Cía attorney Fernanda Arenas travelled in September to the city of Geneva, Switzerland, in order to complete her Master’s Degree in Business Law.
7 .- TALK. On 6 January 2010, was held at the Santiago Chamber of Commerce a talk on the Labor Process and System Contract: Job Strategies for your Company. Estubo activity by the attorney of the study Tuane & cia Don Fernando Don Lohse and Carlos Lopez, Chief Legal Defense Unit of the Department of Labor, aiming to analyze the impact this will have on business and system procedures and main considerations imply its implementation.
8 .- PRIZES. On 16 January 2010, was held at Sheraton Santiago, the closing luncheon of the judicial year 2009, and gave the award for best professional Tuane & Cia, resulting in the first place the lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, Mr. Daniel Montalva Armanet.
